DESCRIPTION:\nThe Trustee’s Tale: What Corporate Fiduciaries Wish Drafting Attorneys Would Consider and Discuss with Their Clients.\n \nWealth transfer advisors focus on achieving their client’s goals and objectives while minimizing income and transfer taxes.  Emphasis is often on the initial planning and drafting of the client’s estate planning documents and not the ultimate implementation and administration of the client’s overall wealth plan.  Sometimes the best intended plan goes awry because of the failure to consider how the plan impacts existing credit, the ability to secure future lending, family dynamics, diversification and a panoply of other issues.  Our discussion will focus on issues professional fiduciaries wish advisors would consider in when advising clients and drafting their documents. \nKaren Sugihara \nKaren Sugihara joined Wells Fargo Private Bank in 2013 and is currently the Senior Regional Fiduciary Manager of the San Francisco, North Bay, East Bay and South Bay regions.  Karen leads a team of experienced fiduciary advisory professionals who help clients work toward their unique goals by providing trust and estate services as well as specialized wealth services including legacy planning, real estate asset management, philanthropic, and business advisory services.  Before assuming her current role, Karen was a Senior Wealth Planning Strategist in our Pasadena, California office, working closely with clients to develop customized wealth plans based on a thorough understanding of their personal values, wealth planning goals, and vision for their legacy. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, Ms. Sugihara worked with Anglin, Flewelling, Rasmussen, Campbell & Trytten in Pasadena and with Weinstock, Manion, Reisman, Shore & Neumann in Century City as an associate attorney.
